The BIIF Playoff brackets and schedules have been released for baseball and softball, with baseball semifinals beginning today and softball semifinals starting Thursday.
Each pair will play a best-of-three series, with the high seed hosting the first game, the low seed hosting the second — and if a third game is necessary, the high seed will host again.
In Division I baseball action — today at 3 p.m., No.1 seed Hilo High School will host No.4 Kea‘au High School and No.2 seed Waiakea High School will host N0.3 Kealakehe High School.
For the Division II baseball semifinals — at 3 p.m. today, No.1 Konawaena High School will host No.4 Pahoa High School and No.2 Kamehameha Schools – Hawai‘i will host No.3 Honoka‘a.
In DI softball — Thursday at 3 p.m. No.1 Waiakea will host No.4 Kea‘au and No.2 Kealakehe will host No.3 Hilo.
DII softball semifinals will begin at the same time. No.1 KSH will host No.4 Konawaena and No.2 Honoka‘a will host No.3 Kohala.
Finals will begin next week, also as a best-of-three series. Both baseball finals will take place at Wong Stadium and both softball championships will be played at Kealakehe High School.
Hilo’s baseball team enters the tournament undefeated at 10-0, with Waiakea trailing at 8-2, Kealakehe at 1-9 and Kea‘au with no wins.
Konawaena leads DII with an 8-2 overall record and a 6-0 division play record. KSH and Honoka‘a both come in at 7-3, and Pahoa is 5-5.
In DI softball — Waiakea, Kealakehe and Hilo all have 7-2 records, with Kea‘au at 1-5. In DII — KSH leads 8-1, Honoka‘a is 7-2, while Konawaena and Kohala are 3-6.
